Norm Values of Head Circumference in Turkish Children

Objective: Measuring head circumference is a quick, simple, cheap, noninvasive and reliable procedure for determining underlying brain size provides information about risk medical problems. Growth percentages of vary from one community to another.
 Methods: We aim create growth curves children aged 0-18 years in Turkish community. Measurements were performed by same person using rigid calibrated tape meter. In addition, the parents asked fill out questionnaire with variables that could affect children's growth.
 Results: Data analysis has shown there no relationship between whether exists someone large/small their families, or average monthly income families parent’s education level. Only independent child’s school performance, birth weight, nutrition, smoking are significantly effective on HC measures boys at alpha=0.05 For girls, only weight nutrition form important explaining variability level alpha=0.05. One gram increase causes 0.001 cm both genders. created genders include all 0-18.
 Conclusions: Our study offers recent gender-specific norms. These new values can be used more effectively child follow-up.
